What do I do?

Specialist Areas

I primarily handle translation and interpreting assignments in the following fields: construction, land use, environmental studies, geosciences, archaeology, and medicine (medical reports, treatment plans).

Official Documents

I translate various types of official documents (licenses, civil status certificates, diplomas etc.) and provide interpreting services at doctor’s visits, construction sites, and during exams (e.g., first aid exams at driving schools).

Police and Courts

Since November 2022, I have been interpreting for the Keszthely police station and since March 2023 for the Keszthely district court.

Language Exam

I teach German and English, from A2 to C1 level, including preparation for the ECL language exam. Additionally, I offer beginner-level (A2) Hungarian lessons for non-native speakers. My teaching methods are based on approaches I have developed through collaboration with the Goethe Institute.

Why Hungarian?

In the fall of 2011, I began studying Hungarian regularly, although my interest in the language was sparked much earlier. As a child, I watched Hungarian films that stirred my imagination and deepened my interest in Hungary’s history and culture. One film that particularly captivated me was Névtelen Vár, though I have watched many films based on the novels of Mór Jókai. Learning Hungarian requires systematic and persistent effort, but on this long journey, I gained not only linguistic knowledge but also an understanding of the soul and mindset of the Hungarian people. This insight became invaluable during a particularly demanding and lengthy project.

Three years ago, the book Evolutionary Environments: Homo Sapiens – an Endangered Species? was published, in which I contributed as one of the editors. The project leader, Dr. Wolfgang Sassin from Germany, placed great importance on addressing the issues that threaten today’s global population. One of the central themes focuses on migration, covering not only the current migration crisis but also the historical movements of various peoples. My primary role in this project was translation; however, I also authored two articles on the Hungarian language and the migrations of the ancestors of modern Hungarians.

My progress would not have been possible without the native-speaking environment and the many kind people I met along the way. Special thanks go to my two teachers, Gabriella Rogácsiné Révész (Veszprém) and Zsuzsanna Dóber (Keszthely).
